Who these terms are between

They are between you, the reader, and the company that operates Marenhof at Zandkuilstraat 16, 9724 PB Groningen, The Netherlands. Reading these pages means accepting them. If you do not accept them, please close the tab.

Adults only

This site describes a hotel that contains a gaming floor, and the legal age for gambling in the Netherlands is 18. The site is intended for people of that age and over. The home page asks once per device and remembers your answer, and answering truthfully is your part of the arrangement. At the hotel itself, age is settled by a document at the door.

Nothing is played or paid here

These pages describe a building and what happens inside it, and are not a gaming service. This domain offers no games, wagers, deposits or withdrawals, and has no balances, accounts or payment mechanisms of any kind. Any site that appears to offer those things in our name is not ours, and we would be glad to hear about it.

Accuracy, and no offer

We write these pages ourselves and keep them current, but hours change, rooms are refurbished, a kitchen runs out of something and a courtyard terrace closes when it rains sideways. Nothing here is a contractual offer or a guarantee of availability. A room, a table or anything else exists for you when a member of staff has confirmed it by telephone or email. Where this site and a person at the desk disagree, the person at the desk is right.

No prices appear anywhere on this site, and nothing here should be read as a quotation.

Intellectual property

The text, the layout, the stylesheet, the mark in the corner and the arrangement of these pages belong to the hotel. You may read them, print them, link to them and quote a sensible amount with attribution. You may not republish the site or a substantial part of it, present it as your own, or use it to train an automated system that reproduces it.

The photographs are published under Creative Commons Zero or public domain terms. Those terms govern what you may do with the photographs.

Links out

This site links to nothing outside its own pages and loads no third-party scripts, embedded maps, social buttons or advertising. If a link that leaves this domain ever appears, we will have chosen to put it there, though we still cannot be responsible for what is on the other end of it.

Conduct on the property

The hotel is a private building. Staff may refuse entry or ask anybody to leave, and need not argue the point. The usual reasons are intoxication, aggression, the dress code on the gaming floor, or refusing to show a document at the door. House rules for the spa and the gaming floor are posted where they apply and are part of your stay. Filming and photographing other guests or staff is not allowed anywhere inside.

Availability of the site

We would like the site to be up all the time and it mostly is, but we cannot promise it. It may be unavailable for maintenance, because of a fault at the hosting company, or for reasons neither of us can control. Nothing you read here should be the only copy of anything you depend on.

Liability

We are liable for what the law of the Netherlands says we are liable for, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence and anything caused by our own fraud, and we do not try to exclude that. Beyond it, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website, from reliance on information that later changed, or from the site being unavailable. Your rights as a consumer under Dutch law are not affected by anything on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Disputes go to the competent court in Groningen, without prejudice to any right a consumer has to bring proceedings in their own place of residence.
